Step One – R1 Cooling Gel

Radiaderm R1 Cooling Gel is the first step of the full R1 & R2 System. It cools, hydrates and stabilizes skin temperature. As soon as R1 is applied to the skin, it provides hydration. Radiaderm R1 includes LactokineTM in its formulation. Lactokine contains milk-derived factors that help the skin maintain a smooth and elastic texture.

  • Lactokine is a clinically tested milk-based fluid that is used in personal care products. It is a skin-conditioning agent that also helps reduce redness of the skin.

  • R1 Cooling Gel is for use as soon as possible following radiotherapy. It cools, soothes and hydrates the skin.

    Directions for Safe Use

    • R1 Cooling Gel should be used at room temperature.
    • The R1 gel is most effective when applied in a generous layer to the affected area each day following your radiotherapy. A heaping teaspoonful (6g) should cover an area of 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).
    • The gel should be left in place for a minimum of 20 minutes. Do not rub into the skin. Any residue may be gently removed.
    • You may experience a mild stinging sensation for a short time after application.
    • For use alongside R2 lotion as part of the R1 & R2 System. Not intended for use as a standalone product.

Step Two – R2 Cooling Gel

R2 Soothing Lotion is the second step of the system and adds needed moisture throughout the day and night. It contains Lactokine, which is a skin-conditioning agent that helps to reduce redness of the skin and maintain the skin’s smooth and elastic texture.

R2 Soothing Lotion also contains UVA and UVB stabilizers that help maintain the skin's natural barrier to free radicals caused by UV exposure; sun exposure should be limited while using this product. If you plan to expose your skin to the sun, then it is recommended that you use an additional suitable sunscreen product.

    • After you have applied R1 Cooling Gel for a minimum of 20 minutes, wipe off any residue that has not been absorbed. Immediately apply R2 Soothing Lotion sparingly and evenly to the affected area by gently rubbing it into the skin. A pea-sized amount (1g) should cover an area of 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).
    • Apply R2 lotion a minimum of three times a day and also at nighttime to continue to provide moisturizing and skin-protecting benefits. Reapply after towel drying, swimming or sweating.
    • Continue to apply R2 lotion gently to the skin for at least two weeks following the last application of R1 Cooling Gel.
    • For use alongside R1 gel as part of the R1 & R2 System. Suitable to be used as a standalone product.
